In truck racing, the awning is more than just somewhere to park the truck. It creates a practical working environment for the team — providing shelter, protection and space to work throughout a busy race weekend.
At The Awning Company, we manufacture bespoke awning systems suitable for all levels of motorsport, with extensive experience supplying awnings for teams competing in the British Truck Racing Championship (BTRC) and European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC).
Our truck racing awnings are manufactured around the individual requirements of the team and vehicle, rather than being restricted to standard sizes.
A typical truck racing installation will feature 3 or 4 bays, with a 6m or 7m projection, creating a substantial covered working area around the race truck.
The front of the awning is generally around 2.9m high, allowing the truck to sit comfortably inside while providing plenty of headroom and usable workspace for the team.
Every installation can be configured to suit the individual requirements of the team, including the layout, access points, PVC sheeting colour and branding.
Race weekends are fast-paced, so the last thing a team needs is an awning that is complicated or time-consuming to operate.
Our side sheets can incorporate a roller-track PVC curtain system, allowing the sheet to be opened or closed simply by pulling it along the track.
The system allows one person to quickly open or close the side of the awning from ground level, providing easy access to the truck while making setup and pack-down more straightforward.
The cab area can present another challenge when a race truck is positioned inside an awning.
Where required, we can manufacture bespoke PVC skirts for the cab recess, helping to close off the exposed area and provide additional privacy.
Motorsport doesn’t stop when the weather changes.
Our truck racing awnings provide a large covered area around the vehicle, giving teams somewhere to work while helping protect the truck, equipment and working area from the elements.
The enclosed configuration can also provide a more controlled environment around the truck, whether the team is carrying out maintenance, preparing for a session or simply keeping equipment protected between races.
